Slime welcomes London-based producer Urbani to the label. Debuting on the imprint with a fresh UKG style that fits perfectly with our sonic aesthetic, he brings with him three killer tracks that epitomise the future sound of garage but with a nod to the past. Guaranteed to be incendiary on the dancefloor, this is one release destined to be in your digital crate for some time.
‘Who I Be’ opens proceedings with a bang. Warehouse rave chords combine with diva vocals for a garage roller that delivers the goods from the get go. Skip and swing rhythms drive the track along until it meets a monstrous bassline that will have you pulling for the reload time and time again.
‘When I’m Lookin’ takes the pace down a touch with an atmospheric opening, drizzling sensual female vocals over a classic bump and flex groove. The build-up dissolves into a modulated bassline that will punish soundsystems everywhere, before expanding out into an incredible garage anthem.
‘5 Violins’ takes the tempo of the former and wraps it up with a distinct old skool rave flavour, replete with warm pads and skittering percussion. Sub-bass rattles your chestplate as the looped vocal gels the track together for something truly special.
Available from 29/09/2014 at the Slime Store and 06/10/2014 from all good digital stockists.
