French duo Chicks Luv Us join Repopulate Mars in June to deliver three dancefloor focused house cuts entitled ‘Pump It EP’ with Paul’s Boutique founder Paolo Martini on remix duty.
With releases on Relief, Snatch, Roush and Elrow to name a few, Chicks Luv Us bring nearly a decade of experience to the house scene. The Marseille pair are well-known for their close association with Spartacus Club, having been residents there since 2009, playing regularly alongside artists such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier and Dubfire. Last year saw the producers debut on Repopulate Mars, dropping ‘Move Alone’ on Part Two of the label’s Repopulate Stars series. They now return to Lee Foss’ imprint for their own full release.
‘Pump It’ sets the tone of the package with robust drums and a thumping bass line before hooky vocals unfold. House veteran Paolo Martini then offers up his rework of the track with rolling percussion, a pulsating low end and whirring elements before ’Cosmic Ouh’ follows with a compelling groove and a heady, modulated bass line as resonant vocal chops are introduced alongside oscillating effects. Tying it all together, ‘Come Inside’ commences with firm kicks and shuffling cymbals as muffled synths join moody bass.
Chicks Luv Us ‘Pump It’ EP is out on Repopulate Mars on 15th June 2018.
