UK producer South London Ordnance is releasing a new 2-tracker on his own Aery Metals label. Dropping 19th August 2016, ‘Use of Weapons’ joins a steady catalogue of releases delivered predominantly by South London Ordnance since the imprint’s establishment in 2013.
Title track ‘Use of Weapons’ on the A-side is defined by rolling arpeggiators, sub shaking kicks and buzzing atmospherics, whilst the song's latter half explores chilling synthesis, touching on the influences that South London Ordnance takes from 80’s pan-European dance music. The B-side’s ‘Corporation’ develops this sentiment further, arming itself with intertwining hooks, steely percussion and a heavy-duty, evolving bassline. This EP is further proof of South London Ordnance’s strong attention to detail and refreshingly modern sound.
Over recent years, South London Ordnance has developed a unique voice as both a DJ and producer. His sound blends driving techno with classic acid and earthy, reduced house music. His original productions have been highly supported by industry heavyweights: Richie Hawtin, Surgeon, Sven Väth, Marcel Dettman and Adam Beyer to name a few, further enabling a rigorous touring schedule across the globe.
