Vh1 SUPERSONIC FESTIVAL CONFIRMED

Following recent permission granted from India’s State Level Event Permission Committee (SLEPC), broadcasting giant LIVE Viacom18 can finally confirm that its brand new music and culture festival experience, Vh1 SUPERSONIC, will be landing in Candolim, Goa from the 26th – 30th of December 2013!

Landing on the shores of Goa between Christmas and New Year, just a few of the international stars set to perform across 5 magical days on the beach town of Candolim later this month include Above & Beyond, Albin Myers, Benny Benassi, Booka Shade, BT, Edu Imbernon, Felix Cartal, Ferry Corsten, Julian Jordan, Norman Doray, Yousef and more (full details below). Many of those christneing the event will be playing extended ‘Spotlight’ sets, giving fans the prolonged musical experiences that they don’t usually get from other festivals around the world. Further additions to the lineup will be added in the next few days.

Enlisting the inimitable knowledge, expertise and overall vision of India’s much loved DJ, VJ, dance music promoter and now Festival Curator, Nikhil Chinapa, Vh1 SUPERSONIC will offer dance music aficionados from India and around the world an unparalleled immersive experience, coupled with the very best music across a whole spectrum of electronic genres. A fully interactive and captivating music festival looking to restoring the magic and essence of Goa from the 1950s and 60s, Vh1 SUPERSONIC will no doubt be the highlight of this year’s Indian festival calendar.

Welcoming some of the world’s most talented DJs to the shores of Candolim, Goa this December, Vh1 SUPERSONIC will also – and most importantly – be looking to bring friends together to restore the spirit of community and the collective passion for electronic music that’s been missing from the Indian festival market of late.

By combining some of the biggest names in dance music with a carefully crafted selection of the very best and burgeoning talent from India – such as Ajit Pai, Ash Roy, Ma Faiza, Mash, Nawed Khan, Pearl, Praveen Achary, Sanjay Dutta, Tuhin Mehta, Vachan Chinnappa – the festival will target devoted music lovers whose needs aren’t being met in the current Indian music festival landscape.

Connecting serious music enthusiasts directly with the artists they love Vh1 SUPERSONIC is no doubt set to become a sanctuary for forward-thinking music fans looking for life-affirming experiences to share with the great friends old and new. Maintaining a healthy balance between popular and underground music, this will be a festival for the true dance music fan, for whom music is a way of life.

Besides Vh1 SUPERSONIC’s dedication to showcasing only the very best electronic music coupled with the numerous immersive experiences it promises to offer (including art installations, hippy markets, beach sports, professional graffiti artists, shaded chill zones, a library and the very finest cuisine Goa has to offer), the festival will also have a strong local focus, creating a platform to nurture and promote some of India’s best DJs on the same stages as the international artists, and will, more importantly than anything else, place absolute importance on the safety of all of it’s festival-goers.

With Viacom18’s huge broadcast strength, leverage of iconic music brands like MTV & Vh1 and considerable knowledge of events across all platforms – not forgetting Chinapa’s in-depth understanding of the global dance music industry – Vh1 SUPERSONIC promises to create a truly unforgettable experience on the sands of Goa in just a few weeks time.
