Mid-September will see London based producer/DJ Timmy P touch down on Waifs & Strays’ Lovecrimes imprint armed with three original productions and a remix from label co-founder Itchy Rich.
Timmy P is a name that has been steadily making its way into the minds and into the conversations of many within the world of house across the past few years, with releases on the likes of MadTech, Lower East, Madhouse and Local Talk now firm fixtures in his catalogue. With recent appearances at Ministry of Sound and Glastonbury, the exciting talent has gone on to catch the attention of industry heavyweights such as Steve Lawler, Sidney Charles and Detroit Swindle to name a few, and he looks set to continue impressing with his debut EP on Lovecrimes.
Up first, title track ‘Walk The Walk’ employs an infectious soulful vocal laid fluently over a laid-back groove consisting of crisp percussion shots and steady rhythm. ‘Function’ follows and continues the smooth aesthetics with a series of deep horn like chords alongside rich arpeggios, before the last of three originals ‘Oosh’ reveals an energy-fuelled production offering resonant and hypnotic synth lines, shuffling claps and tightly worked drum rolls.
Lastly, Itchy Rich’s remix of ‘Walk The Walk’ presents a slightly acid tinged reshape of the original production; with the rich vocal and slick natural drum licks cleverly reworked to reveal a darker alternative of the EP’s title track.
Timmy P’s ‘Walk The Walk’ EP is out on Lovecrimes 16th September 2016.
