Get Physical co-founders M.A.N.D.Y. drop their first reworked EP of 2018 this April, unveiling a fresh version of ‘Wandler’ accompanied by a remix from Alican.
Originally written and produced together with close friends and fellow label co-founders Booka Shade as part of their 2016 ‘Double Fantasy’ LP, here we see ‘Wandler’ reshaped for the clubs alongside a remix from Turkish talent Alican, whose previous releases come on the likes of International DeeJay Gigolo Records, Connected Frontline and more.
M.A.N.D.Y.’s rework opens up proceedings and sees the emphasis shifted from a stripped back, emotive production to the heart of the dancefloor, employing a driving bassline, shuffling hats and meandering synth lines to reveal a dynamic production geared for the peak time.
On the flip, Istanbul’s Alican returns to Get Physical to deliver his own entrancing interpretation, drawing on the original’s melodic characteristics whilst combining a series of slick organic percussion patterns with warping atmospherics, rich pads and rippling sonics to punctuate the EP in fine style.
