Wankelmut makes a welcome return to Perfect Havoc with ‘Carousel’

Following in the vein of his recent accessible dance cuts on the likes of FIVE Music / Warner, Future House Music and Spinnin, sonic virtuoso Wankelmut returns to London indie, Perfect Havoc, with the infectious house cut, ‘Carousel’, featuring electro pop artist, PLANT.  Listen below.

Privately known as Jacob Dilssner, Berliner Wankelmut stands tall among the elite purveyors of electronic music crafted in the heart of Germany. It was one of his very early releases that catapulted Wankelmut to stardom with the anthemic ‘My Head Is A Jungle’, featuring the sultry vocals of Australian singer Emma Louise, which stormed the European charts, peaking at #5 in the UK in 2014 with a stellar remix by MK.

Over the years since, Wankelmut’s creative prowess on stellar productions have dropped far and wide across such heavyweight labels as Toolroom, Defected and Heldeep. He’s collaborated with vocal luminaries Björn Dixgard (Mando Diao), Charlotte OC, and MATTN, and laid down remixes for Dennis Lloyd, Gossip and Lenny Kravitz, altogether solidifying his status as a transformative force in the industry.

Joining Wankelmut on ‘Carousel’ is the London-based rising talent, PLANT. Originally from Portland, Oregon, PLANT has already received support from BBC Introducing London and from her debut EP ‘Disquiet Dreamlands’ in November 2022, the standout track ‘Aftershock’ went on to feature on the popular TV show ‘Made In Chelsea’.

Proving her demand as a singer/songwriter, PLANT has featured with artists Lucas Estrada on ‘Medicine’ and MOTi on ‘Can’t Sleep’ and has co-written with such esteemed musicians and writers as Grammy-nominated Taneisha Jackson (Doja Cat / John Legen) and Lewis Gardiner (Pharrell Williams / Megan Thee Stallion). With over 20m Spotify streams to her name, PLANT has a captivating quality and is one to keep an eye on.

‘Carousel’ will literally go round and round in the listener’s head with its wonky, offkey drums and compelling melody, set to PLANT’s ethereal vocal. Fitting as either a set builder or a danceable floor filler, ‘Carousel’ is a welcome return to Perfect Havoc for the undisputed Wankelmut.

There’s a fizz in the air at Perfect Havoc HQ which can be heard in every track laid out in its 2024 release schedule. With tracks also coming from Tobtok and PS1, Ros T, T.Matthias x Alfie Cridland, Taim and Stephani B, expect a bigger sound and bigger energy than ever before. Now in its 9th year, Perfect Havoc continues to push the envelope of crossover house music and to build on over 10 billion global streams, six UK Top 20 singles and multiple platinum, gold, and silver awards.
