Josefine Hellstrom Hanson - Water Cave EP (Incl. Martinez Remix)

Late March will see House Music With Love inaugurate its new sub-label Heartbreak Records with Josefine Hellström Hansson’s ‘Water Cave’ EP, backed with a Martinez remix.

Following their recent successes the Swedish electronic label, HMWL launches a new vinyl imprint. Heartbreak records will release a somewhat darker, more organic techno sound and first out is a debut EP by Malmö-based producer, Josefine Hellström Hansson. Josefine’s debut track – 'Water Cave' saw her pick up support from the likes of La Fleur, Ilario Alicante, Horse Meat Disco and Ame.

Here we see ‘Water Cave’ return alongside two other original compositions and a Martinez remix to launch Heartbreak Records, the new sub-label being launched by House Music With Love. Up first is the title track which sees Hansson fuse a robust rhythmic drive with dubbed out synth stabs and resonant atmospheric sweeps. The original mix of ‘Sensus’ follows and takes a more melodic approach via elongated bass drones, sweeping arpeggios and airy leads.

Denmark’s Martinez steps up to remix ‘Sensus’ next and in typical fashion from the Cadenza/Moon Harbour artist he delivers a stripped-back understated take on things with deftly produced modulations and a subtly evolving feel throughout. Lastly Josefine turns in ‘Volcanics’ to complete the package, rounding things off on a deeper tip with low-slung percussion, bubbling bass hits and expansive string melodies.

Josefine Hellström Hansson’s ‘Water Cave’ EP is out on Heartbreak Records 21st March (Vinyl) and 4th April (Digi) 2016.
