Wavefront Music Festival wraps a successful second year

Wavefront Music Festival wraps a successful second year on Montrose Beach this past weekend, with 72,500 fans coming through the festival’s gates to enjoy the world’s top electronic dance music artists, hot summer beats, epic sunsets, fireworks, and much more. Expanded to three days this year, Wavefront brought even more stages and artists to Chicago’s only beachside festival, which was broadcast live to 40 million homes on AXS TV, and viewed by over 225,000 people in 144 countries on internationally recognized live streaming video platform BE-AT.TV.

“With an eclectic lineup, beachfront location, and the birthplace of house music as its home, the festival is well positioned to develop its own niche in the crowded festival market: one that might skew a bit older and groovier than the last two fests to blow through the Windy City…” says inthemix.com.

Sun and sand were as abundant as the world renowned talents who played at Wavefront this year, including the Legends stage featuring Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter back-to-back with Mark Farina and more honoring the heritage of Chicago house music, plus James Murphy and his DFA crew, The Wave stage with Fatboy Slim, Justice (playing a DJ set), Diplo, Rusko and Cosmic Gate, The Cube stage with Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones and Hot Natured, and the Goose Island Oasis stage with Seth Troxler, Nicolas Jaar, and many, many more!

Highlights also include The Wave stage, complete with water cannons to simulate real waves hitting the beach, Mike’s Hard Lemonade’s 36-foot giant water slide, Belvedere Vodka’s exclusive nightclub experience in the SBE XIV Wavefront Sessions cabanas complete with champagne-showers and confetti-explosions, and fireworks to close out the festival on Saturday and Sunday nights.

For those who want to relive the magic or missed it the first time, BE-AT.TV provides free on-demand viewing of Wavefront DJ sets by Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Principle, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Droog, Ida Engberg, dOP and more at the Wavefront BE-AT.TV channel.

Stay tuned for Wavefront Music Festival’s full after movie! Get ready for Wavefront 2014 dates and early bird tickets coming soon in August.
