Tough Love - What You Need Is Me (Tough Love VIP Mix)

London based DJ/Production duo, Tough Love, are serving up a fresh rethink of their colossal house banger – ‘What You Need Is Me’. Released via their self-owned imprint Get Twisted, this VIP edit is available to stream now!

Taking the track into the darker realms of the deep house genre, the boys switch up the bass and replace the original steel drum melody with cut up vocal stabs and 90s style dance chords.  With a brooding breakdown and dissonant vocal harmonies, the record is given a new edge while still possessing the impact of the original mix.

The first remix of a soon to be released package, the duo have certainly set the bar high from the outset, ensuring that ‘What You Need Is Me (VIP)’ is no less of a production master-class than the original preceding it.

2015 has undoubtedly been a stellar year for Alex and Stefan. Securing residencies at Kiss FM and Sankey’s in Ibiza, enjoying two Top 40 singles, a silver sales achievement for ‘So Freakin Tight’, and a nomination for DJ Mag’s coveted ‘Breakthrough DJ’ award, it is no wonder that many have labeled Tough Love as the ‘ones to watch’ for 2016.
