Shiba San - What’s On My Mind

Parisian producer Shiba San debuts on Repopulate Mars with ‘What’s On My Mind’ featuring a pair of formidable house tracks with a remix from Bontan.

Well known for releases on Dirtybird, Suara and CUFF, Shiba San is a familiar name to many since his Beatport chart topping single ‘Okay’ dropped in 2014. The Frenchman and former Hip Hop DJ/producer has over 15 years of experience as a DJ, with recent years seeing him make appearances across the globe, presenting his signature sound in the likes of London, Detroit, Melbourne, Singapore, Paris, and New York to name a few.

Chattering crowd noises and mesmerising samples set the tone in ‘What’s On My Mind’ before a rumbling bassline comes into play, followed by a remix from Bontan who converts the original into a trippy and animated version of his own. On the other hand, crunchy percussion and a meandering synth hook are blended together to forge the high-octane ‘Oh My God’, rounding off a release exemplary of Shiba’s robust and energetic style.
