Winners Revealed At Inaugural Aux Awards

The debut Aux Awards was held last month to commend the brightest artists and brands making innovative steps in the independent music industry. Winners across 10 categories took home the gold including singer-songwriter Emma Mae who picked up Best New Single for ‘When Paris Calls’, Audience Republic who scored Best in new Music Software, Brighton-based Psychedelic Rock quintet CLOUD who were awarded Best Album for their LP ‘The Fourth Planet’, and Sub-Label Recordings who were crowned Best Independent Label.

Now available to watch back in full on YouTube or as a highlights reel the Aux Awards was hosted by the vibrant Head of Community at Aux App, Joe Belham. Hundreds of musicians, producers and podcasters are already experiencing a new way of working using the pioneering Aux App (launched in Beta in late 2021 – www.aux.app) where they can store, share and collaborate on audio files in a seamless and more simple way, with anyone in the world.

Aux’s market-leading tools along with its vision to shine a light on the independent music industry attracted an impressive list of nominee partners for its Awards event. These included music tech and trade outlets Music Ally, The Independent Music Insider and Access All Areas, plus specialists across the teams at Far Out Magazine and HotVox.

With live performances from winners Emma Mae, CLOUD, alternative lyricist Anna Wolf, and shoegaze/alt-rock outfit Silktape, the Awards was a celebratory evening where the public were in control of the votes. The full list of winners is as follows:

Best Independent Artist – Silktape
Best Podcast – Girls to the Front
Best New Single – Emma Mae ‘When Paris Calls’
Best New Album – CLOUD ‘The Fourth Planet’
Best Music Video – Lime Garden ‘Pulp’

Founded by tech entrepreneur Ben Bowler (Chew.tv / Indie Tech Ltd / Send Music), many more features are to be revealed in the full launch of Aux App later this year. Bowler’s mission to simplify the remote music making process alongside career-furthering tools and pioneering AI technology position Aux as an indispensable platform of the future.
