Winters Island – Ares

Evocative electro pop trio Winters Island proudly present their new single ‘Ares’, set for release on 6th April.

The new track crafts a sound that is both familiar and unique, mixing layers of giddy electro pop and indie with dark thrills from noisier genres. The strength of the lyrics is equally impressive for such a new band, as lead singer Andy Trimmer proclaims ‘I’m a man that can’t be saved’.

Trimmer and his bandmates Sam Thomas and Will Kay formed the band last March and have enjoyed coveted radio support so far. Dermot O’Leary praised their song ‘Fire’ as a ‘great track’ before playing it on his show for BBC Radio 2, whilst a host of Amazing Radio DJs have been charmed by the trio’s invigorating music, including Simon Raymonde, Charlie Ashcroft, Shell Zenner and Gill Mills.

The group have played at some of London’s most iconic venues, including a support slot for Freddie Dickson at the historic KOKO, a headline show at The Lexington, and a stirring performance at Proud Camden. Shows around the country are soon to follow for this tight live band, whose thrilling touring set and exquisite performances are a key part of the Winters Island philosophy.

While the accompanying lyric video is already incredibly popular, having amassed over 200,000 views on YouTube and counting, a beautifully shot official video will accompany the release of ‘Ares’ and is soon to be revealed. It embraces the full emotional force of the original track while retaining a playful nature, driven by a fun and entertaining narrative that lends an entirely new element to the track.

The new single is a valuable addition to the catalogue of a mightily talented band, a track set to please the fans whose loyalty they already hold, and win over those encountering the Winters Island sound for the very first time.
