Faroe is the solo project of Corentin of Concrete Knives (Bella Union), who releases a debut EP ‘Words’ on Jan 22nd /16. Faroe first streamed the EP’s lead track ‘Blast’ on Soundcloud in Summer ‘15, gaining over 19k listens to date.
The intimacy and the minimalism that stands out at the start of Blast tells a lot of Faroe’s universe in that the song evolves gently, gaining in intensity with machines and textures surrounding what is really the core of this music: Faroe’s voice the full concept for the video brought to life by 3D animator Elliot Martin.
“When I started writing songs for this EP, I was at a turning point in my life and the meaning the lyrics carry was essential to me, they were words that needed to be said and words that needed to be heard. I hope some people will find comfort and confidence in them, because I did."- Faroe
Words is a hypnotic full body of work, full of slick percussion and electronica that will please fans of of Grizzly Bear, James Blake and Sohn. Faroe brings emotions with restraint, balancing a cold electronic production with the honest clarity of his voice.
