WYTE LABL - WYTE LABL – Runaway

Following their debut single, the club hit ‘This Year (As We Go)’, WYTE LABL’S second release ‘Runaway’ has been signed by Virgin EMI.

East London born and bred, WYTE LABL comprises Jeff Russell and Aaron Greenwood. As encapsulated on ‘Runaway’, their sound fuses garage, 2-step and house with an emphasis on strong hooks and killer drops. Since releasing their debut single, WYTE LABL have been tipped as ‘ones to watch’, with early support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC1xtra (including support from DJ Target, who then booked them for his Pitched Up night at Birthdays), Kiss and Capital Xtra.

Jeff and Aaron grew up with very different musical influences ranging from Carole King to Michael Jackson, and classical to garage. By the time they’d reached their teens, Jeff’s passion for DJing saw him immersed first in local clubs, then production and a Rinse FM show, while Aaron honed his vocal and piano skills. The two were introduced by a mutual friend and started working together in the studio, bringing together a combined love of producers like Todd Edwards, M.J Cole, Wookie and Grant Nelson. One of their first productions was ‘Taking Over’, which remixed an old acapella from Craig David, and was endorsed by the man himself.

The name WYTE LABL pays homage to the days of collecting rare and exclusive white label records. Musically, they’re a product of their environment, taking their main influences from the UK garage of their youth, blending it with a current sound and a fresh approach to production.

With ‘Runaway’ set for impact in September, expect to be hearing this single all summer. Remixes for ‘Runaway’ will be revealed soon.
