Drawing inspiration from his distorted childhood and philosophical inquiries, X Revolution describes the track as a reflection of his own internal battle.

“I’ve seen quite a few things growing up that would affect anyone badly, so I refer to the song as ‘GENERALS THEME’, because I feel like an old-time war General who has been through too much, and would prefer not to see or be involved in any more conflict.” 

The single’s anger and intensity stem from years of bottled-up emotions, creating a powerful statement about the complexities of power and self-empowerment. The track’s brooding tone was crafted through a meticulous creative process. X Revolution experimented with various percussion and drum samples, chopping and manipulating them to create the dark, heavy beats that anchor the song. Using only outboard gear for the synths, including his Sequential Prophet 6 and Moog Matriarch for bass and melodies, he created an immersive sound. Revisiting the guitar after years, he added a haunting solo that heightens the track’s emotional impact. 

“To contemplate the track I decided to get back into playing some guitar, which I recorded while playing around with some progressions and a little solo. Everything produced in the instrumental really spoke to me, bringing out some deep seated emotions. The lyrics really mean something to me, especially when I recorded them. It felt different this time when recording the rap parts.”
