As the Ibiza summertime draws to a close, Kumasi’s latest offering evokes nostalgic memories of the holiday season gone by whilst providing a fitting soundtrack for the drawing to a close of the summer months. For Gone, Canadian singer-songwriter Bethea combines with Ibiza residing deep house producing artist Xavier Arak to devastating effect. The original version sees sultry grand piano melodies, a growling bassline and hypnotic synths all combine vivaciously with Bethea’s sumptuous vocals to spawn a thing of beauty which unravels itself visually here:
UK artist Matt Fear delivers perhaps his most powerful remix yet with a sensational harmonic anthem expertly constructed with all the craft and guile you would come to expect of a Matt Fear adaptation. Spanish duo Animal Picnic treat us to a typically deep and driving propulsive deep house affair acting as the perfect dancefloor foil for Arak’s captivating original version, whilst fellow Spanish pairing Javi Green & Nemo Gauss crank the gears up a notch with a driving tech-house bomb that adds double g-force to the package. An ambient dub electronica version of Gone courtesy of Ian G completes Kumasi’s latest package of dancefloor delicacies.
