The Midland’s hottest new nightspot, XOYO Birmingham, is to host a nostalgic night of dance music bliss on Saturday 18th November when it brings together an exceptional lineup of some of the best-known artists from the last 30 years. Over four rooms hosted by renowned club brands, ‘Thirty: Three Decades of Dance’ will span the popular genres of the last three decades from trance and old school to funky house and classics. Clubbers should prepare to be blown away by the legendary talents of Tall Paul best known for his epic sets at The Gallery at the iconic London venue Turnmills; Yomanda who had a global hit with Synths and Strings; Shoom founder Danny Rampling; Kissdafunk’s main man Rob Tissera, and Miss Moneypenny’s Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan. They’re joined by Birmingham old skool legends, Funkagenda, Chad Lewis, Rue Jay (Spin Events), and Richie Roberts (former host of The Dance Factory on BBC WM), plus many more talents in the shape of Jef Jefferson, Alex Hammond, Ill Disco, Si Moore, Ric James, Clinton Shawe, Sandi G, Davey Boy, DJ Felton, Dave Lavender, Phutek, OJE, Tommy Jamz, Harry Pinner, Ill Disco DJs, Josh Mann, and Lino Balsamo.
This careful selection of iconic names will appear across four rooms at XOYO, each with its own distinctive sound. The Thirty Arena takes over the main room playing tribute to dance music’s pioneers and the timeless sounds of house, trance, and old-school classics. House of Legends serves up the sound of Birmingham classics including a live PA from Birmingham’s own Kymberly Myles performing the hit single, ‘We Got A Love’.
Brum-born label Groovedigital will celebrate its 20th anniversary from XOYO’s Roof Garden with a music policy of funky house, electro and tech and 360-degree views of the city. And Heritage: A New Disco is the place to be, with its blend of big beats and infectious energy.
And when it’s time to refuel, street food vendors will be on hand selling an assortment of delicious offerings.
