For those looking for intimate rooftop raves this summer, BBQs and bottomless brunches, or even anthemic sing-along sessions, XOYO Birmingham has it covered. From 26th July to 25th August 2024, the Digbeth venue has revealed a colourful series of events to be staged on its Roof Garden oasis – one of Birmingham’s most spectacular rooftop locations. From the heights of the second city, these events cater for all musical persuasions spanning Dancehall, RnB, House, UKG and more. Whether part of the Friday post-work crowd in need of a good time or mates who just live for a sacrilegious Sunday, the party people of Birmingham are guaranteed to find something to fill their diary at XOYO this summer.
The series kicks off on Fri 26 Jul when party-starring brand #BaeBrunch celebrates its 1st Birthday at XOYO, promising a night brunch like no other under the Birmingham sunset. Revellers will be taken on a journey of RnB, Hip Hop, and Garage bangerz from the 90’s & 00’s, back up to the current times, fuelled by bottomless rum punch and amazing street food supplied by winners of Come Dine With Me – The Professionals, Smoking Bagels.
For fans of old school garage, the UKG Brunch On The Rooftop is a date for the diary (Sat 27 Jul). With bottomless cocktails in hand, it’s unlikely many guests will stay seated at this brunch as DJs including Norris ‘Da Boss’ Windross, MC Creed, and a LIVE PA from Monsta Boy ft Denzee ‘I’m sorry’ spin an unforgettable mix of the biggest UKG tunes around.
On Sun 4 Aug, XOYO welcomes the summer edition of RnB & Slow Jams to the Roof Garden and to its Main Room. People should prep their vocal cords for a massive sing-along at this day-into-night party, featuring old-school soul belters to contemporary pop-tinged smashes from the likes of Summer Walker, SZA, Drizzy Drake and Donell Jones; an unmissable and very danceable experience.
The good vibes continue on Sun 11 Aug with the return of Reggae Rooftop. Opening with an hour of bottomless rum punch and Caribbean favourites Jerk Chicken, Curry Mutton, and Jamaican Patty served throughout the day, this event is set to bring the big island vibes. Guests can get their groove on to dancehall, calypso and commercial hits spun by the Reggae Brunch DJs, be enticed by the hilarious host, and get involved in interactive party games and dance-off competitions.
The sing-alongs continue on Fri 16 Aug with Dancehall Karaoke presented by Monikah Lee from JCN and Sir DJ Corey from Active Eventz. Dancehall fans will hit the rooftop, pick a tune and jump on stage for an epic night of music, dancing and good vibes. Whether a seasoned Dancehall pro or just someone looking to let loose, this is an inclusive event where supportive applause is guaranteed.
On Sat 17 Aug, RAW returns to Birmingham for a highly anticipated open-air day party at XOYO. It brings man of the moment, Morgan Seatree, for a high energy, intimate rave on the roof where he’ll be spinning old-school vocals and pumping drums with that classic house feel – tunes that have favoured him with huge names like Richy Ahmed, Jamie Jones and Patrick Topping.
While the UK summer can sometimes leave much to be desired, the programming at XOYO Birmingham doesn’t. Decked out with faux grass and with foliage dripping from overhead, XOYO’s Roof Garden is a rare spot in the city to dance to quality music in all its forms and watch the incredible sunset over city skyline views.
Since opening in September 2023, XOYO Birmingham has captivated Birmingham and beyond with unforgettable clubbing escapades scored by electronic dance music’s finest. Leaning into the esteemed reputation of its London counterpart, XOYO Birmingham has trailblazed its own path in Birmingham’s vibrant nightlife scene. Comprising five distinct spaces and a capacity to host close to 3,000 partygoers, XOYO Birmingham offers a truly unparalleled experience for the people of Birmingham, by the people of Birmingham.
