Birmingham’s essential clubbing venue, XOYO, has released a blinding programme of daytime into nighttime events for its Roof Garden oasis throughout May 2024. With forthcoming headline sets from Badger, Casey Spillman, Jive Talk and DJ Cosworth, staged by vital Birmingham club brands Cirque Du Soul, Serious Selectas, Re:cord, and Aromatik, the Digbeth rooftop is the place to be for house music, bassline, speed garage, and everything in between, this summer.
A rare spot in the city to dance to quality electronic music and watch the incredible sunset over city skyline views, XOYO’s Roof Garden is a unique spot for summer-vibe clubbing. Decked out with faux grass and with foliage dripping from overhead, it’s already played host to two sold out events over the first May bank holiday weekend with Defected’s Sam Divine and local hip hop hero, DJ RUSSKE. XOYO is now ready to do it all again.
Continuing things on Saturday 11th May are two of Birmingham’s most exciting up and coming speed garage brands, Serious Selectas and 2Tekky. They stage the city debut for Bristolian DJ Cosworth, founder of the no-nonsense club music label, Hardline. With the booming popularity of all things speed garage, expect a raucous day-into-night party on the Roof Garden.
Saturday 18th May is hosted by new event brand Capture, curated by Birmingham-based promoters, Nicklin and Kingy. The pair are the brains behind one of the city’s longest running afterparties The Kitchen, plus various nights at Funky City. With Nicklin’s background promoting Tekno Disco parties across the UK with artists including Folamour, Partiboi 69, Harrison BDP and O’Flynn, clubbers at XOYO will be in good hands at this new minimal tech and garage-leaning night.
Headlining the first Capture event is the fast-rising house music producer, Casey Spillman. His skippy yet driving style of percussion and ruminating basslines has seen his reputation soar from London to an international level, due to his ‘Flavourz’ release series on Soundcloud and signings to such reputable labels as Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Visions and Archie Hamilton’s Beeyou Records. Support comes from the solid Birmingham resident, Alexandria, who’s having her own wave of success signing to the popular Manchester label, You & Me.
On Saturday 25th May comes a huge, three-way collaboration between the mighty Birmingham club brands, Re:cord, Aromatik and Revolve. Clubbers can expect a party-starting set when the outlandish duo, Jive Talk appear. Their pumping, eclectic DJ style has seen them perform at the UK’s best loved festivals, including Noisily and Gottwood, while their releases on Gottwax, Tropical Disco Records and Semi Delicious have garnered support from such household names as Roger Sanchez, James Zabiela, and Annie Mac. They’ll be joined by Birmingham staples, The Darrs, who know more than most about how to work a Brum crowd.
Completing this latest announcement is a huge Roof Garden takeover from the masters of colour, magic and dance, Cirque Du Soul on Tuesday 28th May. Who better to headline this vibrant event than the larger-than-life, Badger? Specialising in UK garage, bass, house and jungle, Badger’s sets are a gleeful adventure through sound, whipping audiences into a frenzy as he weaves between the old and new. Discovered and signed by AC Slater in 2022, Badger is a fast-rising electronic talent, with a Beatport No.1 under his belt for his single ‘Backstrap’, support from Interplanetary Criminal and Skream, and most recently, going viral with his edit of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘These Words’. Badger’s appearance at XOYO will be one for the record books.
Since opening in September 2023, XOYO Birmingham has consistently captivated Birmingham and beyond with unforgettable clubbing escapades to the score of electronic dance music’s finest. Despite its relatively short existence, XOYO Birmingham has swiftly demonstrated its prowess, inheriting the esteemed reputation of its London counterpart while forging a path as a trailblazer in Birmingham’s vibrant nightlife scene. Comprising five distinct spaces and a capacity to host close to 3,000 partygoers, XOYO Birmingham offers a truly unparalleled experience for the people of Birmingham, by the people of Birmingham.
For those unable to travel to Ibiza, Croatia or Miami, XOYO Birmingham has it covered with its own slice of summer parties on the Roof Garden. Tickets for all events are now on sale. For more info, visit www.xoyobirmingham.co.uk

Hi Tobias, welcome to the site. How’s life been treating you?
You and Oliver Nelson have just dropped another corker of a release in the form of Alright. What was the creative process like on this record – how did it come together and what was it like being back in the studio with Oliver?
The pair of you have released many tunes together over time. When and where did you first meet?
Have you made any exciting purchases for your studio lately?
Last year you released an EP with farfetch’d where we saw a different more experimental side to your production. Can we expect any more music from you in similar vein?
Speaking of different styles, your last release on Selected ‘No Sense’ with STO CULTR sounded unlike anything you’d produced before.
When was the last time you actually went clubbing or to a festival that you weren’t playing, and who did you see?
Looking ahead, what can fans expect from Tobtok in terms of new music, upcoming collaborations, and live performances?
