Simion - XTC

Mother have once again unearthed a producer with a fun, fresh and funky house sound for their latest. It is a two track EP from Simion, who has also had outings on Suara and Snatch, amongst other, which have won him plenty of plaudits with DJs and dancers alike.

Of the two tunes here, Haus is the most meaty, with macho drums pumping along as a rude boy vocal up top brings plenty of attitude. The hi hats are super icy and the kicks are solid. It’s an amped up hands in the air anthem to blow the floor wide open. XTC on the flip is house with looping drums and vocals that works you into a later. The percussion is tribal in style and the vocal yelps really help add fuel to the fire. For a pair of instant impact tunes, you can do no better than these.
