YOUTH ft Paces – On My Mind
YOUTH team up with Gold Coast MPC power-master Paces to bring you this certified banger – already tearing up the Australian summer with regular Triple J plays and a club DJ fave. To quote prominent US blog Indie Shuffle – “If this doesn’t make you bounce, then I don’t know what will!”
Currently in the studio with Alex Adair and Black Butter, YOUTH first popped up last year on Ministry of Sound’s compilation, placing them alongside Disclosure and Lana Del Ray. Their first solo effort, Low, came out earlier this year. Support so far has come from BBC Introducing, Radio 1, Capital Xtra, XFM, TripleJ (National Radio, Aus), the 405, Earmilk, Les Inrocks, Vogue and Rankin’s Hunger Magazine. An exciting summer ensued which saw them play Secret Garden Party’s Temple of Boom stage alongside Gorgon City and DJ EZ, flown to Dubai to play for Vogue Magazine, and record with MNEK.
YOUTH tour the UK in Jan, then Australia through Jan-Feb. Their debut EP is released March 2015.
PACES has also had a climatic 12 months, with two EPs featuring Chela (Kitsuné / Miami Horror fame) and soulstress Erin Marshall, remixes for SAFIA, Kilter, Sietta, live mixes for FBi Radio, George FM and Triple J’s Friday Live Mix leading into Triple J’s Unearthed Artist of the Week for his single ‘Can’t Touch Me feat Madeline Vida’. Paces work all came to head this year at Splendour in the Grass 2014 with special guest appearances from Tkay Maidza, Madeline Vida and Erin Marshall.
Paces is main support on Crooked Colours’ upcoming tour before departing on his own national headline tour in support of the ‘On My Mind’ EP release.
