ZHANGYE drops new single ‘Wherever The Wind Blows’ ft. KARRA

Following a strong debut earlier in 2022, ZHANGYE is back with his next release. Titled ‘Wherever The Wind Blows’ this time, he has drafted in the sublime talents of American singer and songwriter KARRA, known for her work with big acts with Le Youth, NERVO and Armin van Buuren.

KARRA’s partnership with ZHANGYE on ‘Wherever The Wind Blows’ is the fusion of two gifted artists with a deep footing in music theory and creativity. This combination elevates a song that could be perceived as a soothing Ballard into an exhilarating electronic track. From a melodically subtle intro, the track opens with placid guitar strums before KARRA’s vocal takes position. ZHANGYE’s production cleverly infuses a country feel before tumbling into a compressed electro melodic, wrapped around a slaphouse kick. The combination of which elevates ‘Wherever The Wind Blows’ into an addictive house player that brims with mainstage appeal for summer festival goers.

Previously earning support from the likes of Quintino and former world No.1 DJ Dimitri Vegas, ZHANGYE is beginning to make strides as emerging talent from the Chinese scene. His debut EP, ‘When I Was Young’, managed to take the No.1 position on the Chinese iTunes electronic chart, as well as a brief stint at #1 on the US iTunes EDM chart and Top 3 on the QQ Music Electronic Chart for three consecutive weeks (QQ Music is the biggest DSP in China.) ‘When I Was Young’ also went Gold on NetEase CloudMusic, the second largest Chinese DSP.

Alongside his music career, ZHANGYE’s life is a multi-faceted existence as he is also known as the founder of Cyanhill Capital, a leading venture capital firm in China focusing on early-stage consumer investments. Peers recognize ZHANGYE and Cyanhill in the industry for their superior track record and their solitary focus on the concept of aesthetics. As a result, he and Cyanhill have received numerous honours. They have been named ‘Best Early-Stage Investors in China’ and ‘Best Early-Stage Investment Institution in China’ by mainstream institutions for consecutive years.

KARRA, real name Kara Jillian Madden, has become one of the dance scene’s most sought-after singer/songwriters in recent years. Since debuting on Monstercat, the American vocalist has worked with a slew of well-known names, including Jauz, GHASTLEY, Firebeatz, Sam Feldt, and KSHMR.
