MANCHESTER disco and house music purveyors, Lost in Music, welcome Aeroplane (Glitterbox / Defected Records / Eskimo Recordings) back to Manchester after a six-year absence.
Lost in Music waves goodbye to the winter and opens its doors to the summer with a trio of headliners, synonymous with the sound of the Adriatic and Balearics, Vito De Luca aka Aeroplane, Dublin’s Hidden Agenda and producer extraordinaire and man of the moment Andy Buchan to Stage & Radio (43 Port Street, Manchester, M1 2EQ) on Saturday 9 June 2018.
Italian-Belgian producer, Aeroplane, has established himself as a party-starting DJ, a remixer du jour, and a pioneer of the nu-disco and Balearic music scenes. In the past few years, Aeroplane has produced several HypeMachine chart-topping remixes, including Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie,” Mystery Skull’s “Paralyzed,” and Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” and has released several Beatport-charting EP’s including his latest “Love On Hold” on the Glitterbox label, launched a new "sample-house" project called FLUSH with Defected Records, launched an acclaimed collaborative group with Alex Metric (called Metroplane), and teamed up with Purple Disco Machine and Aloe Blacc for a single released on Spinnin’ Deep.
In 2012, Aeroplane was selected by Pete Tong to perform the 500th “Essential Mix” which included his now world-famous remix of Friendly Fires' “Paris.” As a result, Aeroplane was named one of NME’s 20 Most Ground-breaking Dance Acts in the World. Following the success of “We Can’t Fly” and the “Paris” remix, Aeroplane has released several EP’s, produced countless successful remixes, and has launched his own record label, Aeropop.
Hidden Agenda are leading party starters in Dublin, having hosted festivals, parties, gigs and more. They helped establish the Metropolis Festival and hosted artists such as, Run The Jewels, Nicolas Jaar, Mos Def, Todd Terje and many more. In the last five years, Hidden Agenda have cemented themselves as one of Ireland’s most dynamic event brands and further afield their DJs have made appearances at Metropolis, Forbidden Fruit, Body & Soul, Hideout Festival (Croatia) and Longitude.
Making up the trio of headliners is Leeds based producer extraordinaire, Andy Buchan. Who fresh off the back of a slew of releases on labels including Fingerman’s Hot Digits Music and forthcoming tracks on Manchester’s Sprechen. Andy’s addition to the line up marks another coup to a club which prides itself on bringing fresh new talent to the city.
Marco Giannini, resident and promoter for Lost in Music, said: “This is a line up we’ve been very excited about for some time.
“Having three headliners in such an intimate venue as the Stage & Radio is going to be something really special.”
