DGTL Amsterdam 2019 opens with art project SKYLINE II

DGTL will return for their annual weekender during Easter (April 19 – 21 2019) at the Amsterdam NDSM-docklands. The sustainable and art-loving festival will open the festival season with music, revolutionary sustainability projects and a lot of art.

This year the festival will be opened with the impressive art project SKYLINE II. Everyone who attended DGTL last year, will probably still remember this special project, that was showcased in the arrival hall of the festival. Last year this special project was already a great success so that gave DGTL the reason to bring it back for the 2019 edition, but this year in a new and modified shape.

The art project is designed by Boris Acket, Nick Verstand and Bob Roijen and will be supported by three acts that perform at DGTL throughout the weekend. Every day there is a special time slot where one of the three artists is performing. On Friday this will be Colin Benders, on Saturday Oceanic and on Sunday Dax J. Around these acts, Boris Acket and Nick Verstand will perform continuously all day (Friday 22.00 – 05.00, Saturday and Sunday 15.00 – 23.00) with only the ‘act of the day’ to break up their show. Get ready for the breathtaking 4D sound in combination with the kinetic lightning plan that will give a totally new, unique and impactful surround experience similar to witnessing a concert. You can get a first impression here.

Next to SKYLINE II, this year’s ART-program of DGTL will see two other special collaborations. Heleen van Blanken will showcase her Plastic Waterfall Installation, reflecting on our misuse and wrong attitude towards plastic. Alongside these two projects, Amsterdam born eyewear brand Ace & Tate together with DGTL created circular project Refract, consisting out of 15,000 plastic spectacle glasses, aiming to make visitors and partners reflect on their current take-make-waste behavior.

With only a little over 3 weeks to go and tickets almost sold out, this promises to be an unforgettable edition. Get the last tickets now via DGTL.
