Dimentique Showcase Part 1

The prolific Dimentique label again displays its diverse A&R policy with a compilation EP featuring artists from different points on the globe and sounds touching on various aspects of underground electronic music. The Dimentique Showcase Part 1 promises to be the first in a series highlighting new and unsung discoveries in the global dance music network, providing these impressive artists with an outlet for exposure as well as an introduction into the growing Dimentique family.

Chicago producer Oleg Bondar sets things into motion under his Arcade Room moniker, unveiling the jaunty yet relaxed house music of “Anse Lazio”. With its flowing atmospherics, spacey trumpet melody, and exotic percussion this one transmits a positive, poolside vibe. Southern Italy is next represented by Harvaro and his driving “Fireworks”. Led by an insistent and funky drum machine pattern, the track is layered with melodic pads, synth arpeggiations, and a rumbling, low bass line combining for quite the breezy affair. French law student-turned-producer L’Orbeat delivers a lush, downtempo, soulful feel with his remarkable contribution, “Love In Summer”. Its light, melancholic groove is punctuated with vocal hits, ethereal chords, and a crisp snare moving things along. Stephen Flores, hailing from Northern California, catches onto the tropical trend with appropriately titled “Hot Nights” … it pulses and builds into a solid, late night summertime anthem. Finally, from the American deep south comes SeizeTheBeat, who winds things down with “Portland Rain”, a cut harking back to the atmospheric trip hop of the mid-’90s but not without a few contemporary production tricks up the sleeve.
