Electronic producer Montee is back with ‘High On You’

German electronic artist Montee releases “High On You”, a house and UK garage-driven track that sits between dancefloor energy and emotional tension, written from the space where attachment starts to feel like withdrawal.

Montee works at the intersection of house, UKG, breakbeat and cinematic club music, building tracks that lean into contrast rather than resolution. His music often pulls between nostalgia and forward motion, euphoria and unease, creating a world where club records carry emotional weight without stepping away from rhythm and movement.

“High On You” moves further into dancefloor territory than his previous releases, but stays close to the emotional themes that run through his work.

At its core, the song is about emotional dependence and the confusion that comes with it. Montee describes it as a reflection on attachment and contradiction: the feeling of withdrawal from a person, and the push-and-pull between going back or cutting things off completely. It touches on the strange comfort of situations that aren’t good for you, where intensity can feel easier to sit in than emptiness.

He also connects the track to his own experience with sobriety and past habits, including the awareness of reaching for substances or people during moments of emotional edge. The song reflects that liminal space that comes with stopping, where silence can feel louder than chaos, and stillness becomes something to sit with rather than escape from.

Rather than trying to resolve those feelings, “High On You” stays inside them. It reflects the human pull toward feeling something over feeling nothing, even when the cost is unclear.

The production was built with a clear intention: make something that works in a club, but still carries emotional weight once the room goes quiet. House rhythm and UK garage swing drive the track forward, while its melodic elements hold onto a sense of longing and friction.

Alongside the release, Montee is launching a vinyl giveaway connected to his EP The Future That Never Was, in collaboration with @border.global, expanding the visual and physical world of the project beyond streaming platforms.
