Exclusive video content & imagery from Annie Mac’s inaugural AMP London

From 27th to the 30th March the inaugural AMP London took over the UK’s capital for four days of music discovery and discussion.

AMP London featured 12 live shows held at multiple London venues with a line-up showcasing over 40 live music acts, both upcoming and established, across a broad range of genres, (from Dancehall to Punk). Those on the bill curated by Annie Mac herself included:  Two Door Cinema ClubSam Fender, Mahalia, Amyl & The SniffersRina SawayamaPuma Blue, Jimothy Lacoste, Koffee, Kojey Radical, Annie Mac and more.

Accompanying the live shows were 2 daytime conferences at the Moth Club in Hackney. With in-depth discussion around the future of and challenges facing today’s music artists and industry, the AMP London Conferences featured panels of leading industry representatives from record companies, management companies, DSPs and taste-making music media.

The first AMP London Conference, on Friday 29th March, was dedicated to ‘The Industry’, and covered the following newsworthy topics: Where Are All The Female Bosses?; Cancelling Artists: Should The Industry Play Judge & Jury; Playing The Playlist Game: How Do You Break Artists in 2019?; Breaking Down Barriers: How Black British Artists Are Storming The Charts. Speakers included: Alex Boateng (President of Urban Division, Island Records UK), Andy Musgrave, (Founder, Supernature), Archie Lamb (Founder, Bear Management), Austin Daboh (Head of Shows & Editorial, Spotify), Ben Zand (Journalist / Documentary Maker, BBC), Carla Marie Williams (Songwriter & Founder, Girls I Rate), Charlotte Gunn, (Editor, NME), Clare Scivier (Founder, Your Green Room), Emily Eavis(Co-Organiser, Glastonbury Festival), Jasmine Srih (Music Programmer, Boiler Room), Laura Snapes (Deputy Music Editor, The Guardian), Mark Strippel (Head of Content commissioning, BBC Radio 1Xtra), Olivia Nunn (Co-Managing Director, Island Records), Parris Oh (Senior Urban Artist Manager, RCA Records), Paul Trueman (General Manager, AWAL), Posty (CEO, GRM Daily), Tom March(Co-President, Polydor).

The second AMP London Conference, on Saturday 30th March, was dedicated to ‘The Next Generation’ and covered the following newsworthy topics: Bossing the Algorithm – Harnessing Social Media For Your Career; Managing Your Future – The Managers That Changed The Game; How Will The Female Voice Impact Rap Music in 2019; Self Made Story: Annie Mac in conversation with Sink The Pink. Speakers included: Amy Morgan (Artist Manager, September Management), Caroline Simionescu-Marin (A&R Manager, XL Recordings), Dion Sincere Lizzy (Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneurs), Ed Blow & Jack Cadwell (General Manager & Head of Digital, Dirty Hit), Glyn Fussell & Amy Zing (Founders, Sink The Pink), Guv (CEO, Catalyst Management), Jazz Sherman (Founder of Hunger MGMT), Ms Banks (artist), Posty (CEO, GRM Daily).

With over 10,000 in attendance, every show on the line-up sold out, and an unprecedented amount of sign-ups to attend the conference days, AMP London proved to be the vital UK music event of the year to date.
