Giles and Diego release a new track to benefit children in Uganda : “Dance Be Happy”

Giles et Diego (the french electronic duo) have teamed up with Robert Stephenson (founder of Climate Actions Now) to release a brand new single, on the CAN Music label distributed by AWAL.

The song is inspired from a video they received of children from the Batwa community in Uganda singing and dancing. The duo sampled it and turned it into a tech-house track that invites listeners on a beautiful journey. With their distinctive sound, Giles et Diego have ensured that the “Dance Be Happy” project stays true to the original song while resonating within their own realm of organic house. All the proceeds generated by this track will be donated to the Batwa community to support the education of these children.

Robert Stephenson, founder of Climate Actions Now, explains in further detail this project’s initiative, as well as the commitment of CAN Music to use the power of music for social change, and Giles et Diego’s dedication to producing music that transcends boundaries and touches lives.

“The Dance Be Happy initiative is much more than a series of beautiful melodies and infectious rhythms – it’s a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Batwa community of Uganda, a people marginalized and displaced from their ancestral highland rainforest lands over the last three decades.

Through our partnership with Giles et Diego, we have crafted a unique blend of traditional Batwa music with modern organic house soundscapes, creating a unique piece of art that transcends boundaries and connects hearts and dancing feet. “Dance Be Happy” is not merely a song – it’s a beacon of hope, a symbol of resilience and a catalyst for change.”

Climate Actions Now is a grassroot climate change initiative. It was founded in 2019 to raise awareness on climate change issues within the African continent. The organization’s main objectives are climate change resilience, adaptation, awareness and education, research into climate change impacts, climate actions initiatives and projects as well as encouraging youth actions on climate change through its projects such as tree planting and introduction of renewable energy sources in schools.

CAN Music was founded in 2022 by Robert Stephenson, as a side part of Climate Actions Now. The CAN Mission is aimed at creating awareness and real impact through the power of art and music. They use music as a powerful way of engaging people of all ages and nationalities in becoming more aware of the need for humanity to understand and take actions around sustainable living.

PLAY, SHARE, DANCE, BE HAPPY!
