GIO reveals music video for ‘Dr Ice’
From the heart of Hatton Garden, GIO has clad rap stars and celebrities with jewels, chains, diamonds and watches, building an impressive clientele and a respected name within the lavish industry. The jeweler has travelled throughout the world to luxurious hotspots including Dubai and the U.S.A, serving clients that include the likes of J Hus , Big Narstie, Charlie Sloth, Mular Juice, Manchester United stars’ Rashford and Wan-Bisaka and boxer Anthony Yarde, but there’s a difference when it comes to GIO and one not to be missed. He can rap.
Revealing his brand new single, aptly named ‘Dr Ice’, GIO treads his Hatton Garden turf for the shining visuals that glisten with jewellery packed scenes as he unfolds a tale of the come up from a life in the hood. Delivering “raw rap straight from the soul”, GIO has an unconventional and creative flow that piques your curiosity as you listen in and hooks you in to his every word.
Making his release debut in late 2019 with ‘Winners Never Quit’, GIO then brought out ‘Believe’ in November 2020 building on his growing traction in the scene. His most recent release, in February 2021 was with ‘Focused’ on Mixtape Madness, which gained serious attention, earning him 125K views and a buzz around the iced out rappers name.
Growing up in Homerton (Hackney) alongside close friends such as Unknown T, GIO’s path into the music industry began at aged 13 when his father went to jail and he started penning lyrics. Whilst his position in society and his immediate circle stacked the odds against him for a clean and clear future, GIO switched his focus to one of productivity and positivity as he became a jeweler at just 15 years old, starting his career with the ‘ICEJEWLZ’ family business. Creating stability and security around himself through his determined focus on his career, GIO has since been able to ease off the pressure to afford him his time with his passion, music.
Marrying his two passions for his brand-new release, it is the perfect time to introduce Dr Ice himself, GIO, to your playlist.
