GROOVE ODYSSEY 4th BIRTHDAY
On Saturday 9th November, London’s biggest Soulful House night Groove Odyssey celebrates its 4th birthday and marks this momentous occasion by throwing another Mahoosive party with South Africa’s ‘Queen Of House’ Bucie flying in for an Exclusive Live show alongside Chicago’s Terry Hunter (T’s Box/Bang), Joey Negro (Z Records) and Atjazz whilst in Room 2, Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B kicks off an Exclusive set of stone cold late 80s/90s funk, soul, R’n B and dance music classics.
Hosted at London’s underground Fire club, Groove Odyssey’s 4th Birthday Party is celebrated across 3 arches of music and welcomes for the very 1st time to the Main Arch, Chicago’s T-Box main man & headliner, Terry Hunter, known for his Live Bang Sundays radio casts and releases such as Mike Dunn Remixes of ‘I Want It Rough’ by Dee Jay. He is joined by London’s Z Records impresario and DJ/Producer, Joey Negro and current toast of the house n’ broken beats dancefloors, Atjazz, alongside residents, Bobby & Steve .
Flying in for an Exclusive Debut Live performance will be the unmistakable soulful voice of South Africa’s ‘Queen of House’ Bucie, performing her Black Coffee-produced dancefloor anthems including “Superman”, “Not Fade”, “Falling”, “You Turn Me On”, “Respect Me” and the Louie Vega produced “Angels Are Watching Me”. One of the new breed of House music vocalists, Bucie has a massive underground following on the web, and her debut Live show in the capital is hotly anticipated. Also in the Main Arch, Groove Odyssey Records showcase their leading new artists including Lifford and Sabrina Chyld.
Arch 2 is Eighties & Nineties Soul, Funk, Disco & RnB headlined by the one and only DJ Jazzie B from Soul II Soul playing a 2 hour set alongside Urban Essentials’ DJ Bigger and a stellar line up of DJs.
Arch 3 is House Classics all night long hosted by the mighty HouseFM.net with special guest, Groove Assassin from Sheffield.
Groove Odyssey’s 4th Birthday celebration is the biggest Soulful House event in London for 2013 at the state-of-the-art Fire venue with this incredible line up throwing down on an amazing sound system. Over the past 4 years Groove Odyssey has showcased many legendary DJs & Artists from around the world as well as the best home-grown talent from the Soulful side of House Music including Kerry Chandler, Masters at Work’s Louie Vega & Kenny Dope, DJ Spen, Mr V, Todd Terry, Blaze’s Kevin Hedge, GoGo Music’s Ralf Gum, Sean McCabe and CJ Mackintosh.
Unique and Incredible vocal performers such as India, Barbara Tucker, Ultra Nate, Monique Bingham, Dajae and Stephanie Cook & Kenny Bobien have graced the stage whilst 80’s giants Leroy Burgess and Linda Clifford have Headlined in the 80’s & 90’s Room.
