Hamburg’s Kuestenklatsch Debut On DTLA Records With Breakdown

Deep Tech Los Angeles Records (DTLA) have snapped up fast-rising German duo Kuestenklatsch for new single ‘Breakdown’. These innovative producers hail from the famous hotbed for house music, Hamburg, and bring with them a real understanding of classic house with a fresh and contemporary tech house perspective. This is the latest in a string of new tunes both signed and produced by the DTLA boss Redux Saints to the label already in 2021.

After almost 15 years grafting as DJs in their own right, long-time friends Roman and Joerg joined forces to create tech house project, Kuestenklatsch. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, they experienced two defining decades of music and the beginning of house music itself. This can be heard in their productions today, featuring strong influences from the good old days mixed with their own new school angles and creative ideas.

Kuestenklatsch has quickly made a big impact with tunes on 303Lovers, Great Stuff, Material, Get Twisted, Formatik, Be One and many more, and have more than 150 tracks in their arsenal. They also head up their own respected Fish & Chicks label, which is well known for groovy underground tech house. Last year, they did not let up despite the pandemic and put out more than 30 unique tracks, each one as forward-thinking as the last.

This latest international signing for DTLA continues in the fine tradition set by the hard working and endlessly creative label boss, Redux Saints. Aka Jason Trevor Miller, in a relatively short space of time he and his imprint have made a global impact, receiving support from mainstays like Claptone, Cirez D, Mark Knight, Anja Schneider, and dozens more, getting worldwide radio plays on key stations and signing music from D.Ramirez, Charles D (USA), Chapter and Verse, Placebo eFx and Matt Caseli. This has all translated to much chart success including a mighty fourteen tracks in the Top 100 on Beatport and two New Hype #1s, as well as more than half a million streams and making it into Beatport’s Top 100 Tech House Labels chart.

The bristling single ‘Breakdown’ brings something new and unique to this genre: it is a high energy tech house tune but with a soulful sense of classic vocal house at its heart. The drums drive forwards under snappy hits, the synth bring plenty of tension and the heartfelt vocals layer in plenty of warmth. The whole thing is a classy peak time weapon that fits perfectly with the vital DTLA output.

DTLA Records continues to evolve and lead the underground house scene from the front, both with the label head’s own productions, as well as the new signings he continues to make with his astute A&R skills. Kuestenklatsch are further proof of that and add another essential sound to the label’s fresh output.
