Hijackers – Freak On

Sean Hayden and Richie Burke, better known with their joint stage name Hijackers, are back again this month with yet another powerful production. Released exclusively on Beatport, ‘Freak On’ is seeking further chart success for the tandem.

Having joined forces four years ago, the Irish duo had their work signed to trend-setting  labels, including: FreeSound Records, Absolutely Records, Stick Around Music, Moving Shadow, and Bonerizing Records. The pair have enjoyed instant success with their first album ‘Negotiations’ topping the iTunes chart in Ireland and coming in at #6 on the ‘Overall’ chart in 2012. Moreover, in such a short time, Hijackers have also managed to secure four ‘Top Ten’ singles in their time together.

Apart from being known for their original material, Hijackers are also very active on the remix front. With remixes of superstars such as: Fedde le Grand, Rihanna, Faithless, Avicii and Afrojack, under their belt, they have conquered international support around the world, including Europe, UK, Australia, USA, and South America.

Hijacker’s unique brand of music, influenced by genres touching on: Dutch House, Electro House, Progressive House, Trap, and Dubstep, hasn’t gone unnoticed by their peers. Apart from being recognised for their production work, they have also been behind the decks alongside A-list DJs, namely: Chuckie, Above & Beyond, T.J.R., Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, Marco V, John O’Callaghan, Full Tilt, and Bingo Players amongst many others.

Embedded within the House domain, ‘Freak On’ kicks off with a deep bass-line, and processed vocal phrasings. The contrast between high and low pitched elements creates a distinctive feel in the introducing tract of the single, setting an exclusive atmosphere around the single. A series of left field effects and chord progressions head into a high-impact ascension which bursts into an energy filled House rhythm-led section. Bass-synth melodies drive the melodic elements within the production before dropping into a breakdown, after which Hijackers provide another massive momentum building section, resolving into the infectious chorus. Their use of distinctive sounds and effects truly set them apart from the usual commercial style, whilst keeping them relevant and within the most current of trends. Moreover, their total control over dynamics and section positioning is extraordinary, building the basis for a truly outstanding club anthem.

Hijackers’ latest project ‘Freak On’ has already gained the support of We Are Loud and Modek, and is proudly being presented by Swedish imprint, Bonerizing Records. A leader within the Electro House field since 2008, Bonerizing Records has gained support form world renowned heavyweight DJs and has become a hub for established and up-coming DJs and producers.

Hijackers are now part of Bonerizing Records’ growing roster, comprised of names such as: 2SOULS, Charlie Kane, Alex Mind, Last Of Us, The Killer Dolls, Digitalchord, Massive Vibes, Aero Chord, Back2Rave, Deenk, FIGHT CLVB, Matierro, DG Bros, Zeskullz, Dave Till, Simon Beta, Michael White, and Top Flow to name a few. With projects such as their newest single ‘Freak On’, Hijackers are surely heading to sustain their chart topping tradition in the years to come.
