Jihad Muhammad Plays An Exclusive Extended Set for Househead LDN on Saturday April 27th

Househead LDN are excited to announce an Extended masterclass DJ set from one of New York’s most creative DJs Jihad Muhammad on Saturday April 27th. An International Special the evening will see Bang The Drum’s mix maestro Jihad Muhammad team up with Ldn’s original underground champ, Johnny Reckless. Taking over Waterloo’s immersive venue, Aures, expect pure House music magic all night long..going deeper through the speakers.

Jihad Muhammad joins the dots between New York’s golden age of DJs, remixing and clubs to today’s modern afro-soul-deep dance floor. Having been inspired early on by Master Mixers Shep Pettibone and Tony Humphries, Jihad further honed his DJ skills from Larry Levan, Timmy Regisford and Merlin Bobb.

Providing a multi-coloured landscape of styles within the soulful house music diaspora to “hungry” House music audiences around the world, Jihad is always pushing the boundaries of complacency, injecting a unique blend of grooves, afro electro sensibilities and vocal soul. His sets are applauded for their distinctive style and grace exemplified in his 300+ remixes and original productions.

His popular Bang The Drum residency catapulted him onto the International stage and has since spread his musical message to clubs such as Paris’ Djoon party, Southport Weekender and Househead LDN, Italy, South Africa, Japan and Canada. In the States, he’s played at New York’s LeBain and Cielo plus the legendary Apollo and is a Regular guest on Kiss F.M

Jihad has released music on West End Records, King Street Sounds, Cameo Recordings and Offering Recordings. He has his own production and label, Movmentsoul Recordings, and has also worked with House music legends such as Louie Vega, Danny Krivit (Body and Soul/718 Sessions), and Blaze Productions’ Kevin Hedge.

Joining Jihad for another 3 hour journey style set is London’s fearless longstanding disco and deep house DJ don, Johnny Reckless. From his sets at We Out Here Festival, Four Directions events and his residency at the sadly closed House Of St Barnabus Soho club, Johnny always gets the party started. He is also one of the connoisseur curators at Hackney’s BBE store and hub, having supported the likes of Louie Vega, Osunlade and DJ Spen at events there.
