BBC Radio 1 today announced the return of Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month in September, when 25 of the biggest and newest acts from the UK and beyond will be performing in Radio 1’s Live Lounge – with Justin Bieber set to perform live from his LA home and Usher due to perform from another secret LA location.
Running Monday – Friday from 1st – 30th September, Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month will showcase a wide range of musical genres supported by Radio 1, from emerging artists to big acts, and is part of the station’s continued commitment to bringing the best new and live music to young audiences.

Each Friday during September, to mark Radio 1’s New Music Friday, there will be a Live Lounge special. Usher, Craig David and Sigala, Chase & Status and a secret special guest to be announced will all perform extended Live Lounges, with The 1975 closing Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month with a special hour-long evening Live Lounge performance with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Clara Amfo will host each Live Lounge – heading to LA at the start of the month for the performances with Justin Bieber and Usher which will be broadcast live during The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw (6:30-10am). The 1975 Live Lounge special from Blackpool will be broadcast on the evening of 30th September (7-10pm). All other Live Lounge performances will be hitting the airwaves during Clara’s Monday-Friday 10am-1pm show.
Videos from Radio 1’s Live Lounge month will be available to watch on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel.

Radio 1’s Live Lounge is known for attracting some of the biggest and best new artists in the world, from Adele, Coldplay, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran to Slaves and James Bay, lining up to perform their own hits as well as unexpected covers.
