Larry Cadge – Attitude

Larry Cadge is back this month with another cracking release by the name of ‘Attitude’. Lined up for a release in February on Smiley Fingers, this is the latest in a long line of releases that have cemented Larry’s status as a reliable source of quality cuts.

Larry’s latest output is a warm and subtly melodic track carries you on a journey of highly infectious bass riffs and sincere synth lines. Welded together with atmospheric pads and reverb soaked undertones – ‘Attitude’ is a beautifully crafted Techno meets House instrumental production that only sporadically calls on on vocal elements for sonic flavour. The minor chords used by the low filtered synth adds an almost jazzy depth to a production which in the most part trusts on nothing more than rhythmic drums and bass throughout the main body of the track. The hypnotic off-beat hats do just enough to create a dreamy groove that bonds together the other percussive elements without ever becoming complicated or overcooked. The deep and sub by bass takes complete care of the lower frequency space, leaving the middle and high ranges to be filled by collection of light and airy electronic synths that modulate in a sultry style that Larry has made his own. The atmosphere in the breakdowns becomes almost Trance-like without ever becoming cheesy or too melodic for the underground style. The vocals used to have been manipulated and stretched out with various edits – adding an extra sonic layer of spice that pulls together the surrounding elements in ‘Attitude’ with precision.

Undoubtedly a highly proficient producer Larry is once again proving why over 15,000 House and Techno lovers are following his story. With some of the most selective underground labels in electronic music already pushing his sounds – he’s no newbie to this game and is a popular selection for those in the know. Ingrained in House and Techno, but free from limitations in influences from across the board, his sound is distinctive, fresh and does the job on the dance floor every time.
