Miles Atmospheric ‘Calling You Out’ EP

John Digweed’s illustrious Bedrock Records has been a stand-out source of inspiration and relief for the underground circuit during the last year, delivering a continued stream of diversely authentic music for inspired at-home listening. Following the recent release of Aubrey Fry’s ‘Dystopia’ EP, the imprint keeps the focus on homegrown talent with a brand new offering from UK native Miles Atmospheric. Featuring two exclusive remixes from house and techno pioneer Josh Wink, the ‘Calling You Out’ EP is available now on 12” vinyl, and digitally across all streaming platforms, including the Bedrock Bandcamp page.
Making his Bedrock debut in 2020 with an eclectic 3-tracker in the form of his ‘Defining Circles’ EP, which enjoyed placement in both Disc 1 (Soundscape) and 2 (Tempo) of John Digweed’s critically acclaimed Quattro compilation, Miles Atmospheric provides us with another scopey EP to stir the senses. The extended player begins with the title track, a melodically rebellious cut founded on crisp, direct percussion and liberal synth work. The titular track is followed by the first out of two remixes courtesy of Bedrock Records mainstay Josh Wink. The “Calling You Out (Josh Wink Paradise Interpretation)” reimagines the track as a haunting, oscillating slice of minimal techno. His exquisite sound bleeds into his more vocal-heavy contribution to the EP, “Calling You Out (Josh Wink Paradise Dub)”, which is driven forward by a slick acid topline. Wink will return to Bedrock Records on June 25th with a 2-track EP titled New Years Day Acid. Pre-order a digital and vinyl copy via the Bedrock Bandcamp page now: https://bedrockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/new-years-day-acid.

ABOUT MILES ATMOSPHERIC – One of the true unsung heroes of UK techno, Miles Sagnia aka Miles Atmospheric, is as much a mesmerizing presence behind the DJ Booth as he is in the studio. Through his richly emotive releases, he weaves seamless stories out of the deepest house to the most spacious techno. He is equally at home going deep on his Atmospheric Existence label or sending out uniquely soulful techno missives for labels such as Applied Rhythmic Technology, Firescope, or Detroit’s Aesthetic Audio.

A Freerotation festival regular, Miles enjoys a dedicated following no matter whether he is delivering sets of muscular late-night techno or feel-good Sunday afternoon house. Given the choice, he will straddle the divide to create something unpredictable yet hypnotic, laced with as much energy as there is soul, gracing turntables worldwide.
