Moonwalk & Alessio Cristiano Unite For ‘Butterfly’ EP

Neapolitan producers Moonwalk and Alessio Cristiano unite for their first-ever collaborative project, a stunning two-track EP titled Butterfly – out now on Purified Records.
Proving its captivating presence in recent shows around the globe, the EP’s title track builds with tension and mystery through sparse instrumentation and celestial synths. Twisting and turning across its duration, this magnificent offering showcases the Italian producers’ undeniable synergy. Continuing their sonic voyage, Infinity enters an otherworldly dimension with airy pads and euphoric melodies, juxtaposed by deep rumbling basslines.Delving into the depths of the Neapolitan scene in their formative years, Moonwalk have become renowned for their graceful, yet powerful blend of melodic techno. Cutting their teeth in their hometown’s underground clubs, Dario and Mauro began channelling the essence of their entrancing performances into their early releases. Touring Europe and growing their fan base, they began releasing on some of the industry’s most revered imprints, including Definition, Stil vor Talent and Kitball Records. No strangers to the Beatport Charts, Moonwalk have gone onto release on the likes of Get Physical, Knee Deep In Sound and Diynamic Music, as well as receiving support from industry heavyweights Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Kölsch, Pete Tong and many more. Following their outstanding sets at Purified events in New York and Prague, and their label debut in 2021 with their Rapture EP, Moonwalk continues to leave their indelible mark with their out of this world creations.

Alessio Cristiano (AKA Alex Luhr) was born in 1994 in Naples, Italy. Igniting his passion for music at the age of seven, he began playing the electric guitar, thanks to his father who started collecting Fender and Gibson guitars from a young age. Exploring different instruments, he started playing the drums, which led him to join a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band. Turning eighteen, he was drawn towards the world of electronic music and decided to buy his first console. Performing around his hometown, it wasn’t long before he began receiving requests to play at exclusive venues. Fusing a distinctive blend of afro and techno sounds, within four years he had had shared decks with the likes of Solomun, &me, The Blessed Madonna, Adriatique and Lehar to name a few. Enrolling at the EMPRO Production school, by 2018, Alessio released an array of tracks on techno imprints, including Senso Sounds, Octopus Recordings, Octopus Black Label, Parquet Recordings and Hydrozoa Records. His most-streamed track Atlante was released on Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds in 2017 and was supported by a long list of acts including Carl Cox, Marco Carola and Popof. Moving to London in 2019, Alessio spread his wings to follow his musical path. With his latest release, and collaborating with Moonwalk, he continues to build his accolades and flourish as an artist.
