When it brought you its first tranche last month, Black Hole Recordings vowed full spectrum remix justice for Mr. Sam’s ‘Cygnes’. Come February and they’re back to make good on the promise! With Ferry Tayle and First State ably boosting the classic’s more uplifting & progressive sensibilities, here comes your next slice. Sun Decade (aka Ronski Speed) & DJ T.H. and – wearing his Sunlounger cap – Roger Shah are here to remix-explore its more harmonic, melodic and cooler potentials.

Before all that though main man Sam has (for the first time since 2008) put ‘Cygnes’ back up on the desk, given it an update and further taken the opportunity to lavish a Full Vocal Mix treatment on it. Backed by the warmth of his pads, its deftly vocoder-touched song has never sounded more intoxicating.

The freshly resurgent Sun Decade & DJ T.H. meanwhile waste no time in mining the melodic riches of the original. Down in its engine room though their mix – kitted with drum gallop and bass & perc spurs – propels ‘Cygnes’s coursing harmonic spirit. Tying off the package Sunlounger gifts the release its perfect swansong. A doucement rendition, it has the beach firmly in mind and the art of chill at its heart.
