NYC Independent Hip Hop Stars “Family Tapes” New Album 2026
The new Family Tapes album is here, it’s called “IBS – (Incendiary Blanket Statement). Ahead of it’s streaming release on 9/4 worldwide, the NYC standout indie rap project is now exclusively on Bandcamp, consisting of 13 tracks produced by Sun Cut Flat. At just over 53 minutes, “IBS” features special guests throughout, including West Coast Legend, Madlib & Flying Lotus collaborator, and original Lootpack member Declaime aka Dudley Perkins on 5 tracks. NYC’s legendary independent emcee Homeboy Sandman of the duo Lice with Aesop Rock also features on the single, “Love Respect, & Loyalty”. Atlanta’s stephenxjones, long-time Sun Cut Flat collaborator and founding member of Family Tapes joins on 3 tracks, and NYC underground veteran Redda Black of Zulu Nation makes his first appearance on Family Tapes records with 3 features including the album’s introduction. Digital download includes VHS video for “The Criteria (Keep Rockin’), full lyrics, back cover album art, and two HQ photos. Collector’s edition vinyls and CD’s are on the way and will be available soon. This is a highly exciting project with the potential to make major waves in the independent hip hop landscape.
