Occultists founder James Demon returns home for his third full-length EP titled “Cult of Cthulhu”
Occultists founder James Demon returns home for his third full length EP titled “Cult of Cthulhu”. His latest effort displays a more refined version of his past releases while still continuing to push things a little bit further. Finding inspiration once again from horror films and the metaphysical, James presents five tracks that tell different stories of the shadow.
The EP takes the listener through his dark yet enjoyable world and represents what you could expect to hear from him in a typical DJ set, including sounds that range from haunting techno bangers, ethereal electronics, and dark electro with lots of post-punk influence. His latest body of work establishes once again his diverse and obscure mindset parading behind a techno soundtrack.
This release also marks a new visual art direction for the label with its tarot card series of artwork illustrated by Nick Cocozza. Each artwork moving forward in the labels catalog will feature one of the major arcana of tarot. To decide what card will be used for each release, a quick calculation of the artists numerology will reveal their ruling birth cards and then one card will be chosen to make the artwork fully symbolic to them, while taking the label’s esthetic into a new and exciting direction.
