Octopus Recordings Celebrates 200th Release with Stiv Hey – Comet EP

Consistently recognised as one of the most exciting and respected labels to emerge onto the international techno circuit over the past decade, Octopus Recordings now celebrates its milestone two-hundredth release, as it warmly welcomes hotly-tipped Milanese producer Stiv Hey for his eagerly anticipated EP label debut. Out now, Stiv Hey and Octopus Recordings proudly present the emphatic three-part Comet EP.

Known for his unique blend of mind bending techno and dark, driving soundcapces, Stiv Hey’s imminent Octopus Recordings EP debut follows a slew of impressive releases on some of the most revered labels in techno, including Sci+Tec, Tronic, Set About, Prospect Records, Respekt Recordings and Unrilis to name just a few.

Making his intentions known from the off, deep chugging basslines, twisted synths and trippy vocal hooks kick-start the three-pronged package, as the Italian techno talent takes the listener on a dark six-minute journey through the impressive title track Comet.

Unrelenting bass and frenetic soundscapes continue into the middle order Rocket, before Stiv Hey sees out proceedings with the juggernaut closer Planet, deftly demonstrating why he’s amassed such a strong reputation as one of the most prolific and promising sounds in European techno.

Regularly lauded by artists such as Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Sven Vath and Marco Carola, Stiv Hey’s productions are characterized by an accurate mix of fixed basslines, refined dark groove and hypnotizing sounds. With critically acclaimed releases on some of the biggest and best techno labels over the course of his ten-year career, Stiv Hey’s raw passion and talent also extends to his stunning live performances, where he can be found gracing the DJ booths of countless internationally renowned venues including Fire London, TakeOff Milano, Ker Barcelona, Brancaleone Rome, Bass:ment Stockholm and Pacha Mumbai to name a few.

Stiv Hey – Comet EP is out now via Octopus Recordings.
