OddKidOut and TIMID. Deliver Their Dreamy, Melancholic Electronica-Leaning Single “I WANNA KNOW” on Lost In Dreams Records

Philadelphia native OddKidOut returns to Lost In Dreams with “I WANNA KNOW,” marking his third single on the label. This haunting yet hypnotic drum and bass cut pushes his genre-bending style into deeper, more emotional territory. Tapping into the vocal allure of TIMID., the track strikes a delicate balance between yearning and rhythm, blending breakbeat finesse with a dreamlike, melancholic edge.

“I WANNA KNOW” swells with moody textures and complex percussive layers, unfolding over misty pads, crisp piano chords, and atmospheric vocal fragments. TIMID.’s vocals float in a state of vulnerable curiosity, channeling emotional inertia against OddKidOut’s agile production—a masterclass in restraint, depth, and dynamic groove.

Running through the track’s natural progression as it morphed from a rock music idea into its moody liquidfunk final form, OddKidOut shares: “I think I can confidently say this is my favorite song I’ve ever made. What started off originally as an indie-rock demo, eventually morphed into a liquid DNB track. It captures a melancholy feeling that I’ve felt my whole life, but exists in a setting that evokes comfort.”

OddKidOut’s evolution is rooted in a background of live drumming and finger-drumming virtuosity, now refined into a sound that traverses trap, dubstep, melodic house, electronica, and beyond. With previous singles “WONDER” and “COME BACK HOME” earning spins from Alok, Alison Wonderland, Ian Asher, and Farius, and media attention from outlets like This Song Is Sick, FuxWithIt, and Acid Stag, his momentum continues to grow.

He’s been championed by heavyweights like Skrillex, deadmau5, Seven Lions, A-Trak, and San Holo, and has brought his high-energy sets to stages on San Holo’s ‘Existential Dance Music’ tour and festivals including Nocturnal Wonderland, Breakaway, and Foam Wonderland. His 2024 remix of NLE Choppa’s viral hit “Slut Me Out 2” on Warner Music further cemented his cross-genre prowess.

With “I WANNA KNOW,” OddKidOut continues to break molds and blur lines—a fitting addition to Lost In Dreams’ forward-thinking catalog and another bold step from one of electronic music’s most versatile rising artists.
