Following a string of critically acclaimed singles, Pigeons & Planes-approved Danish producer Sekuoia, reveals the nostalgic visuals for ‘Rayanne’, the hypnotic opener to his debut LP ‘flac’ – out now on Nowadays Records.
‘Rayanne’ finds the producer doing what he excels at first at foremost – finding the intersection between dreamy soundscapes, atmospheric beats and more direct, club oriented instrumentals, fit for the dark peak hours of the party. As explained by IDOL Magazine, “very few words are uttered throughout the entirety of ‘flac’, save for ‘brace’ and ‘Lamp in the Dark’. Yet listening to Sekuoia’s delectable sound, it’s clear that sometimes in life, you don’t need many words to say something spectacular.” The Copenhagen-based 23-year-old creates hypnotic electronic music with a warm, organic sensibility and this latest single is the ideal introduction to his sound.
Sekuoia explains the accompanying visuals for ‘Rayanne’ in his own words: "For me the video captures some sort of journey on the lookout for something new, or something that’s been missing. I have been lucky to have travelled a lot with my family throughout the years, and the feeling of coming to a whole new country with a whole new culture can be so beautiful. This feeling is what the video gives to me."
Having proven himself a tour-de-force on the live circuit with festival appearances at the likes of Roskilde, Eurosonic, Sonar and Iceland Airwaves, the talented producer now prepares to embark on a short European tour. Starting on the 29th September, he will visit a host of major cities, including Amsterdam, London and Munich. As one of Scandinavia’s brightest talents, Sekuoia’s enthralling live shows are not to be missed as he continues his charge for the top.
Now, with his latest release, Sekuoia further cements his position at the heart of the forward-thinking electronic music that Nowadays Records continue to passionately showcase.
