“Drastic Measures” finds Rennie Foster taking his Detroit-marinated Techno back to the warehouse. The mode here is about pushing the BPMs back into Detroit hardcore territory… where deep harmonics and rising melodies soar across thumping beats. The opening title track kicks things off diving deep into rolling fields of repetition. ‘Saturn’s Meaning’ builds a chunky four-to-the-floor around a galloping bass and cascading strings. Staccato chords punch a riffing square wave lead and pad washes cascade from ‘Disk of Dust.’ ‘True Distance’ applies the same sonic tactics as the previous tracks to discordant tone shifts and disjointed synths.
Rennie Foster delivers an EP aimed directly at the discerning Techno dance floor.
