Riordan Puts Forth New Latin-Infused Tech House Single “Paco” on IN / ROTATION – Out Now
UK producer Riordan makes his debut appearance on Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION imprint with his new Latin-tinged heater “Paco.”
Based out of Sussex, Riordan has been quickly making a name for himself within tech house circles after building an unstoppable buzz on his social channels. The fast-rising phenom is now gearing up for his debut outing on the IN / ROTATION label with his latest single. “Paco” is a hypnotic groover deriving most of its inertia from Latin elements. The track revolves around sweeping tremolo Spanish guitar licks, thumping drums, tight percussive swings, and a silky humming vocal hook tying everything together.
RIORDAN speaks on his breaking out of his comfort zone during the production process, saying: “As my discography shows, I have an affinity for Latin samples, but rarely use guitar as the focal point of a track, so it was very fun to make. I tried to be original and experiment with looping, and the way the guitar riff flows into the drop. It took a while after that to perfect it, but it’s been ripping up my sets ever since!”
Originally making a splash on his socials during Lockdown, Riordan first started to gain recognition from his unique mashups and bootleg remixes of often Latin-inspired tracks. Since then, he has garnered more than 149K followers and 3.6M likes across his videos on TikTok. His previous singles “No Hablo Espanol” and “Reflection” have amassed 2.1M and 1.2M streams, respectively, and his most recent claim to fame arrived in the form of his weighty house collab alongside “La Samba” alongside the Divided Souls head honcho, Wax Motif.
With a deep appreciation for Latin influences, Riordan is letting his new single “Paco” out into the wild on the festive Mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo.
