UMEK is back on his record label 1605 with a thundering peak-time techno track made in collaboration with Sam WOLFE.
One of the world’s most iconic techno producers, UMEK has a career spanning over three decades, including many seminal tracks ranging from classics on Carl Cox’s Intec to modern-day hits on the likes of Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth On Acid.
Sam WOLFE is an exciting young talent who has made 1605 a regular outlet for his music after having numerous top-selling tracks released via the record label, but he has also worked with other imprints ranging from Christian Smith’s Tronic to Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds.
1605 has become one of techno’s most respected record labels and it’s a platform that champions fresh talent alongside influential veterans. This is the first time that UMEK and Sam WOLFE have teamed up in the studio and the outcome is an explosive track that’s perfect for the dance floor.
“Mind of One” is the solo track on the release and it fuses the rumbling tones of a pulsating bassline with thrashing hi-hats and a thumping kick drum. Unfolding with purposeful precision, it builds towards a spine-tingling breakdown with poignant melodies layers with flutters of euphoria. Spiralling textures build tension that erupts when the percussion slams back in alongside electrifying synths that lift the track up a gear.
