Shane Codd continues his hot streak with new single ‘Rather Be Alone’
Irish party-starter Shane Codd has unveiled his huge new single ‘Rather Be Alone’, out today on Polydor.
Sampling Whitney Houston’s eternal classic ‘It’s Not Right but It’s Okay’, ‘Rather Be Alone’ is a dancefloor-focused weapon with serious crossover appeal. The hitmaker’s second single in quick succession, it follows the similarly high-energy ‘Love Me Or Let Me Go’. 2022 is shaping up to be another huge year for the young DJ as he has also just announced his debut US tour, kicking off next month.
Last year Codd released 3 consecutive US Dance Radio #1’s, ‘It Ain’t Right’, ‘Get Out My Head’ and ‘Always On My Mind’ featuring Charlotte Haining, singles that have amassed over 110 million combined streams on Spotifyalone.
A certified hit, the world-conquering ‘Get Out My Head’ went platinum in his native Ireland and broken into the UK Official Chart ‘Top 10’, peaking at #6. It drew wide support from an array of tastemakers, including Capital FM hosts Coco Cole and Mistajam, KISS FM’s Charlie Tee and BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills.
Heavily influenced by the 90s and early-2000s dance sound, Shane Codd’s first big break came when he became a finalist at the 2018 ‘Breakout Producer’ competition held by renowned Irish DJ Mark McCabe. He has since played in cities and towns across his native Ireland, with a performance at County Cork festival Indie 22 also on the horizon.
Shane Codd adds further acceleration to his unstoppable rise through the electronic music ranks.
