Bristol's pioneering multi-venue festival Simple Things have announced a second wave of artists for their 2016 edition including two new headliners: seminal noise-rap group Death Grips – appearing as part of their first UK tour in three years – and prolific Russian selector Nina Kraviz, whose gritty take on acid techno makes a welcome addition to Simple Things' already-extensive late-night programme.
Further live additions include LA garage-rockers the Allah-Las, experimental math-rock trio Three Trapped Tigers and the caustic punk of Bad Breeding plus DIY upstarts Dream Wife. Celebrated electronic composer Anna Meredith will also appear along with a full live band.
Simple Things' expansive club programme is bolstered by the addition of Exit Records boss dBridge along with the EBM-leaning techno of DJ October and Marco Bernardi. Much-loved Rinse FM veteran Brackles also joins the bill.
The new announcement also features a crop of fast-rising acts including She Drew The Gun, Gold Class, Kayla Painter and Shame.
Simple Things Festival takes place on 22 October across Bristol City Centre, utilising a mixture of established venues and DIY club spaces centred around the main hub of Colston Hall.
This year will also see legendary director and composer John Carpenter performing a separately ticketed closing concert at Colston Hall on Sunday 23 October.
New lineup additions in full: Death Grips, Nina Kraviz, Allah-Las, dBridge, Three Trapped Tigers, Anna Meredith, Bad Breeding, DJ October, Dream Wife, Marco Bernardi, She Drew The Gun, Brackles, Gold Class, Kayla Painter, Shame.
