Spainish DJ/producer, Fatima Hajji continues form with ‘YKN’ (Incl. Metodi Hristov Remix)
26th February sees the acclaimed Madrid-based techno DJ/producer, Fatima Hajji unleash her show-stopping new single, ‘YKN’ (incl. Metodi Hristov remix) via Hristov’s own Set About imprint.
With little sign of slamming the breaks, Spanish DJ/producer and label owner, Fatima Hajji continues to prove her esteemed status amongst techno’s highest-ranking go-getters. Having enjoyed a multitude of recent releases on acclaimed imprints such as Octopus Recordings, IAMT, Odd Recordings, Autektone Records and Dolma Records, Hajji’s foot remains firmly on the accelerator with her new show-stopping single, ‘YKN’. This time, she’s teamed up with Bulgarian techno wizard, Metodi Hristov who, as well as providing his own remix version, will be releasing this essential two-track project via his own Set About imprint.
Taking a familiar hard-line approach, Hajji’s ‘YKN (original mix)’ is an immediate reminder of her devilish, unrelenting production style. Smashing through the speakers with a pounding 4/4 beat, the instantly killer bass frequencies make light work of slicing through the rich, permeating synths and atmospherics. Metodi Hristov responds with a similarly explosive rework. Utilising darker, more chasmic production tweaks, his added extra-terrestrial synth and vocal effects takes ‘YKN’ to new heights of focus and intensity.
